2011 Uncle Popov Top 23 [Week 8]

There was a lot of movement this past week.  It is not necessarily because of the games, but because I decided to incorporate the year-by-year measure.  After consideration, I decided to make it a bit more fluid and weigh more heavily the more recent seasons.  To do that, I needed to individualize rankings for each season and come up with a separate formula for that.  Then, I brought together the original Uncle Popov formula (the O.G. Top 23), and the new individualized formula.  From there, I averaged the two together based on a set weight to get a new number.

Thus, what you will notice is radical movement.  Florida drops while Stanford and Wisconsin (despite last week’s loss) move up.  I think this will be more accurate and fluid, while still maintaining importance on annual consistency.
